This course will leave the student with all they should know about the safe use, and maintenance of a Vessel up to 10 meters. On completion the student will receive the official RYA (UK Royal Yachting Association) licence, which qualifies them to drive their own or any other vessel, anywhere around the world.
The licence lasts a lifetime, and there is no need to renew under current regulations.
This two-day entry level course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat, and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence which is normally required when driving a vessel abroad. The ICC is available directly from the RYA, on completion of the RYA licence.
The course focuses on low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed, and collision regulations. The course can be taken on inland waters or on the coast, and your certificate will be endorsed accordingly.
